BloggerCon II Weblog - Celebrating the art and science of weblogs, April 17 at Harvard Law School.

Welcome letter

Greetings and welcome to BloggerCon.

This is the most vital information for all BloggerCon-ers.

1. During the sessions, if you have a comment or question, get the attention of one of the monitors, Tracy or Michael, and they will come to you with a microphone. Please let the monitor hold the mike, and if you can, make your point, or ask your question quickly so we can keep the show moving.

2. If you want to have a one-on-one conversation with another person, please do so outside of the conference room. It's distracting to the discussion to have sidebars going on. We're going to keep the show moving fast, so might not want to miss any part of it. Luckily we have lots of time during breaks, at lunch and the party, and dinners, for one-to-one conversations.

3. If you're bored, other people probably are too. Get a mike, ask a pointed question. Too often people are timid. There's no time like now. We're having a discussion, all day. The presenters want to learn from you. Look around. There really is no audience. At any other conference the people attending would be speakers.

4. Bathrooms are downstairs. If locked, code for men is 531, for women 521.

5. Lunch is in Ropes Gray room, Pound Hall 2nd floor. Maps are in the enclosed packet.

6. Tonight's reception is at the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. A map to the location is in the enclosed packet.

7. If you are registered for a dinner tonight, please pick up a map to your restaurant from the registration desk. If you are not registered, space may still be available; please ask at registration if you are interested.

8. Instructions for access to the Internet, for those who are not registered on the Harvard network, are available at the registration desk.

9. Day 2 sessions are on the 2nd floor of Pound Hall, same floor as Saturday lunch. Registration upon arrival is required, but of course the events are free of charge.

10. Most important, have a great time. Let us know if there's anything we can do to help. Speak up, share what you know, don't be shy, let's have fun!

Your conference host,

Dave Winer, Berkman Center
